Hello TB, I use a fine needle file, usually half round about 6ins. long select the place to cut and file a small groove using the file edge (2 file pulls towards you) Then hold the glass in a cloth and bend/crack at the groove.Should you wish to remove the sharpe edges use a small gas silver soldering nozzle, hold the glass in the flame spin it till the glass softens and rounds off.Takes less than 10 seconds per end. Bye Albert

Go to www.smex.net.au and go to the Reference section. Scroll down to Articles and Drawings and click on "Gauge Glasses". You will find all you need to know there. David

Bye Albert I agree with almost all Albert says and a good few years as a bench and hedge chemist back that up with a deal of experience but you don't need fancy silver soldering kit to do round off the edges (do do it it saves cut fingers and packing). Hey I have a stutter. I usually do it in the flame of the gas cooker or, if the missus is in, with a small disposable bottle blow torch

The nice chap at Reeves told me to put the glass on a flat surface and roll it to and fro (like a pastry rolling pin) with a sharp edged file then pick up, place thumbs either side of line so formed and snap by pushing thumbs away/pulling fingers towards you. Tidy up in flame.

Its only just under 2 months ago we had this question asked. I use a cutting disc on my dremel it works perfectly for me. If you put gauge glass into the search on the site you will get all the answers that came up before. You do need to put in a decent number of days though, the default of 7 wont find very much I just add two zeros at the end and increase the possible hits to 100.
