I've had one of these for some years but not been able to use it for lack of a source of replacement cylinders, butane and micronox.

There used to be a stockist, somewhere in East Anglia I think, but can't find anyone now by searching the internet.

Sources in the 'States won't despatch them here.

Does anyone know of a U.K. or other European source?

Thank you Jason, but that referes to a different torch.

The one I have is a very small self-contained unit, which uses two non-rechargeable cylinders, one of butane, the other of nitrous oxide.

Hi there,
Just wondering if you ever managed to track down a UK supplier for the butane & nitreous oxide cylinders for the microflame jewellers torch? I am desperate for some & cant find a supplier anywhere.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Their guidelines: We don’t ship goods that may be considered hazardous such as chemicals, hair spray, cigarette lighters, cleaning and toner fluids, etc.

Seems unlikely then.

Hi, I have a Microflame torch and had the same problem in finding cylinders.

Solved the nitrous oxide one by using whipped cream cylinders. Nitrous oxide has antibacterial properties and is used as a preservative in making whipped cream from portable dispensers. You can get the cylinders from Creamright International in boxes of 10 for a fraction of the price of the originals.

I've been using them for over 2 years for glass blowing with no problems.

I hope this helps anyone looking for nitrous oxide cylinders.

Just cleaning my teeth and it occurred to me that it might be possible to back-fill the butane cylinder in sit u from one of those cigarette lighter refill tins via the torch. Just ensure the nox is turned off.

My thoughts exactly, to refill the butane cylinder from a butane lighter tin.
I'm down to the last seven butane cylinders and was looking to order some more when I found it wasn't quite that easy.
My plan, if I can't source new cylinders, is when the next butane cylinder is empty, was to remove the cylinder and drill a hole into the empty cylinder, tap it, and modify it to take a filling valve from a refillable lighter (ebay 0.60p?) then fill the cylinder with butane just like a lighter after fitting it back in the torch.
Once the cylinder is fitted with a filling valve I will close the torch gas valve and refill without removing the cylinder from the torch.

I will let you know how I get on when the mod is done.

cream chargers work great. I purchased mine at a local baking supply store called the Happy Cook in Charlottesville VA. you can get them at lots of places. The brand they had was iSi. You can get the specs on the size at Nippon Tansan Gas Co., Ltd. They were the original cylinder makers for the torch. I still have not found butaine cylinders yet. Any help would be appreciated. I have not taken time to read all the threads to see if there is an answer yet.

Cream chargers as previously suggested work. On the other hand if you need replacement butane chargers, don't waste your money! You can back fill the existing empty cartridge by opening the red only butane button, then remove the burner tip, get yourself a can of butane gas lighter refill for £1.00 and back fill the cartridge through the nozzle.

Please note you need 3 hands to do this! One to hold the torch, one to fill through the nozzle and the third to close the red butane knob.
