OT - Young job opportunity (UK)
« Thread Started on Apr 23, 2012, 11:04am »

Apologies in advance for this off-topic posting but, in the present economic climate, I hope it will be acceptable.

A small Cheltenham (UK) company that both sells and maintains a range of specialist equipment for the disabled (mobility aids, powered wheelchairs, vehicle modifications, etc.) is looking for a young workshop trainee. They have approached the Cheltenham SME as a possible source of ideas regarding interested young people. If you know of anyone who might be a suitable candidate and who lives within commuting distance I will be happy to pass on details.

No need for apologies - this sort of thing should be shouted from roof-tops very loudly.

The young lives being wasted around here is a bloody disgrace.

Pete.

Might I suggest that you also post this on the Traction Engine board.

http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/index.php

Lots of youngsters are there, many of whom have experience with traction engines etc.
(But beware they dont convert all the wheelchairs to steam! lol)

My youngest grandson (18) would love an opportunity like this but unfortunatly lives in Bristol just to far away to comute, He has built a Stirling engine and also the rolling road for my Thompson B1 and desperate to get an apprenticeship somewhere but there is nothing going in this area even with RR BAC Et all; on our dorestep.
I realy do feel for the youngsters these days when the option are Tesco or a burger outlet.
Will now get of my soapbox.

Bob
