Hi, I am building my Britannia as it would have been in original 1951 condition. As part of this I want to give the appearance of the Water Pick Up unit bearing on the front left hand side of the tender. I have a picture of the bearing minus the shaft from JJs site as below: I have made up my own dummy bearing housing, but I have left a 'dummy' shaft within the bearing. I then realised that the original would have something else fitted over the end utilizing the 5 bolt holes. Do any remaining BR Standard tenders have the WPU shaft fitted, or does anyone know what originally went over the end or what it should really look like? Many thanks, Paul

From looking in a couple of books i have with pics taken of standard engines in BR service what you have done looks fine, there was no cover over the end.
