As many know I am still building a few little locos using my remaining stock , this is the current status of the Invicta , it will stop at this stage as I want to build the frame for NSW C36 in 2.5" G because it is winter and the weather is good for cutting and filling , no sweat .

Good to see another 'Lamb'.
I am still working out the wrinkles on mine. I made the driving axle fixed as the she had a tendency to bob up and down, the coupled (front) axle is still sprung. The plug cock regulator leaks, i will be replacing it with a screw down regulator in the same position. Regulator pipe work as drawn far to many joints (all under boiler pressure) I silver solder it all together. There is a union on the dry header and the flange joints on the cylinder feeds, its all in one piece and bit fiddly to take apart but alot better than all the joints. I have replaced the single jet blower (.8mm i thick the hole size was) With a 3 jet blower (.4mm holes) she will pull the fire up from 10 or 15 psi, before i was struggling when the pressure dropped below 30 psi. I am running a mechanical lubricator but will change it to a Hyrdo static. With the small wheels a lap and half of the club track will empty the tank. I have fitted a ptfe sleeve to seal the exhaust pipe doing it again i would machine a groove for a O ring.
Hope this is of some help
Will

Thanks Will , On the driving axle , I fixed mine on Rocket for the same reason , on this one I have fitted springs on all axle boxes but if it gives trouble in the future I replace springs with spacers and make it rigid .On the water capacity if you look very closely and you have knowledge about this as you have will find that I have inflated the water tank , a little longer and shorter coal bunker which is fitted with dummy coal ( glued in ) , a little higher , a little wider and slightly bigger well tank , hope this will help me making two laps around the track before I need water . On the fittings , I inherited this boiler from a friend who passed away and the bushes are not exactly as the plan and therefore I have to design these to match the bushes and look as close as possible as the real one , there will be compromises . I always use displacement on all of my engines , they work for me .

Hi Shawki , I love all these very early , small and mildly eccentric designs of engine ! I have heard that the frame extensions carrying the cylinders are a bit excessively flexible and that some staying is needed ? Regards , Michael .

G'day Shawki.
It will be a sad day when you can no longer be found out in the shed.
I like the wheels, where did you get the castings from?
You mentioned preferring hydrostatic lubricators, what design do you use and where can I get a copy?
Regards Ian.

Michael , if you look closely you will find that I have reinforced the two extensions , staying is difficult , not impossible , see how it goes , I did put a stay for the Rocket for the same reason , I believe that they did that with the replica . Ian , I am very sorry I meant to say displacement and not hydrostatic , I will correct that . As for the wheel castings I bought them from Reeves in UK .

Hi Shawki, Can you take another look at that link, it doesn't appear to show what you intended?

Thanks all . Pete , I have the movie and I also built 2 lions, one is sold and one I have , they run well , you can see them on my site . www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHvpwQsaW3kWill , the boiler I inherited from a friend and I built the rest around it , to comply with what I had I had to do a few mods but trying to keep the appearance correct . It will be difficult to steam and fire while going , I will find out .
