A day or so ago I wrote the following . . . Well Eat your hearts out chaps, my SHMBO decided that hauling my locos over half the garden and up and down steps is stupid so she said, ‘why not demolish the garden shed and put your workshop there. Then you can run your locos right into the car without all this up and down business. Yes dear I meekly replied…” So today we demolished! More news soon . . . Read more: modeleng.proboards.com/thread/10911/titfield-thunderbolt?page=1#ixzz3kgCuxxZMNow if any of you are a slightest bit interested, the shed is down and I went to the local wood recyling poject to find some seasoned 2 x 6 for the base. None there but they offered me 5 x 5 timbers at about 10% the cost of a builder's merchant. So that will be the support AND SWMBO is out there creositing them. More as it happens David

I'm just wondering where the sting in the tail is... Is there a major project you don't yet know about as pay back?

New sewing machine?? Foreign beach holiday?? M.i.l. coming to stay?? Ah ha MiL now rests near Guildford Cathedral. Wifelet has come into a little cash and she actually likes me and of course she wants to put a bloody great rockery into the middle of the lawn (well small grassy area), and she is sick and tired of lifting the damn things around the back of the house. So several reasons that we can live with!! Site clearance today and the base goes down this afternoon. Cheers David

We insulated it very well and I have an oil filled radiator that keeps the temperature above 5 degrees. My old car radio plays Beethoven and Wagner so thewre can be nothing better. And yes I got the Fobco for nothing 25 years ago and it has followed me around, sound machgine. Anyway enough of this workshop chatter, now to try to make something that is straight, square and actually fits the next bit!!!! Cheers David PS Official opening to be announced shortly so you can plan your diaries!

Thanks you Julian. We insulated it very well and I have an oil filled radiator that keeps the temperature above 5 degrees. Good grief, is that all! I'll wear Long Johns under my suit trousers for the opening.

I put a radiator out in the workshop (garage) and insulated it as well as I could. Now the heating is on 24/7, it won't go below about 14 degrees out there. Sod working in the cold!
