Hi dave f, a very interesting post!
One of our members has also recently acquired one of these Class 4 tanks and yes, there are many areas that he intends to improve....eg sloppy valvegear as has already been mentioned, plus the reverser screw with an extremely coarse thread that jumps back into full forward gear as soon as you let go of the handle etc. etc. However everyone who has seen it agrees that for its money, it’s a lot of engine, looks pretty good with a fair amount of detail and it works, if not perhaps as well as it might!
Thinking of the first post above, I asked him if he knew any more about the bronze liners question, but he didn’t.....I fully expect though that before long, he’ll strip it down to have a look inside.
