Yeah, those gears are cheaper than the plastic ones that are readily available locally... depending on the postage cost, which isn't usually too bad from mainland EU to here.

Buying them at those prices is the way to go I reckon and much easier than making your own which I have done in the past.

My old imperial Boxford had a 100/127 compound gear for metric screw cutting Boxford supply a 127/135 compound gear to cut imperial threads on a metric lathe.

Perhaps a 65 tooth gear in the train will help. I need that on my lathe (which I must admit has an 4TPI leadscrew, even though the lathe is metric everywhere else) to give 13 and 26 TPI. And, yes, the 127 tooth gear is the conversion to or from metric. I had a pair of ½" x 26 TPI threads to do on some top feeds recently and only now find out, after 35 years of owning the lathe, that the 65 tooth wheel is missing! Luckily I had my CNC lathe as a back up!

I have a metric Denford 280 and have the full conversion assembly for cutting imperial threads (made it myself from Denfords drawings) which does virtually all common UK and US threads except 19TPI. It can be put on ion 10 minutes, but for the odd short thread I admit that I gash the thread to the nearest metric pitch that the box will do, and finish off with a die. For longer threads, or when I'm doing a number of items, then I fit the conversion assembly.

Well I don't have it any more, but it was unique to the Denford Synchro, and wouldn't have fitted the Boxford anyway.
