I have on my recently acquired 5" gauge GWR 2-6-0 Mogul a 2-piece mini snap connector for the water pipe joining the loco to tender.........Where can I get these from as mine appears to be damaged and leaking...
Many thanks
Alan

Polly models do a push fit hose and connector. Check out their catalogue.

Thanks again Mike Alan Arrived to-day ( Monday, 17th )--- Matched exactly with the damaged one ---- now fitted and all's well again PLUS}--- I can now make a motorised boiler water filler using the repaired "damaged" part during lighting up.......How else can you put water into a GWR type boiler if fitted with top feed ?? ( sorry-- hand pump takes too long ..). Mike----spot-on matey, ---- well done !! Alan

Likewise, Alan, I intend to have an electric pump for filling the boiler, I'm also planning and having it as a back up in case both injectors fail for any reason....there are plenty of electric pumps that can push against the levels sustained in our boilers..
Cheers

I use a car windscreen washer pump for initial filling. I connect it to the same battery as I use for the blower fan.

Hello both---
yes, one of our club members ( Barry an Ex-Birmingham "lad" of 80 + years ) has exactly that set-up to pump the cold feedwater from his driving truck water bowser through to the clack on his Simplex....and that's a screen washer pump...So they must be able to generate at least 90 to 100 psi as his loco runs at 80 psi......Who'd have thought it ??
In those two images I've posted that pump is brushless and submersible, ...and should be ok to fill an empty boiler but probably not enough to work against 80 psi of steam ??
I can always get one the same as our Barry has for "in steam" use I suppose ??
Alan
PS}-- Of course, I'll need another one from Polly for The Great Bear !! ( Two injectors plus an electric pump as discussed )

Alan, I’ve got a hose rigged up with a pretty much standard fitting on the connection end, as much hose as you think you need,on the end of that a valve & length of silicon tube that fits the blowdown outlet. Connect tubing, open blowdown valve turn water on, keep talking! No batteries required. Not much use if you want to use it on the run!
Cheers Kerrin
