Can anybody recommend somebody who can put a boiler together for me, it's a 7 1/4" Lion, I'll supply all the flanged plates wrapper ,tubes etc, I have previously made 6 boilers so I do know what I'm doing, but my lungs are knackered so I don't fancy silver soldering anymore, preferably within say a 100 miles of Chester/Liverpool area. Thanks for reading this

Hello matey,
John Ellis ( Kinver MES ) keeps threatening to retire but is still "active" to a certain degree
Steve Milnes of my own Club ( Oswestry & North Shropshire MES )..is a Boiler Inspector currently about to assemble the club loco from a kit of parts...
Ron Miller of the Wolverhampton MES is a proven builder and registered for CE stamping
I'm fairly certain that Wrexhan MES has a "Boiler Builder" in their midst but can't think who just at the moment...
Likewise at Stafford MES
Will that do for starters ??

A friend of mine from Andover club recently travelled down to Lostwithiel (I know, it's a long way from Liverpool), to talk to Castle Steam. He reckons that what he saw was excellent, and the prices are reasonable. They will be assembling his boiler using his plates, etc. Their web site is www.castleinstruments.co.uk/Hope that helps.

Hello Steve......
I tried that link you posted but it wouldn't load onto my computer...........however this one did}-----info@castleinstruments.co.uk
I then had a good look around the site and found, much to my surprise, that they had built a Great Bear boiler in 3.5" gauge for a customer....
So I've given them my e-mail address and asked that they pass it on to the builder in the hope that we might share experiences, ideas etc...
Many thanks for posting their site
Alan

That's weird, Alan, as info@castleinstruments.co.uk is an e-mail address???
On my computer, the link I posted some up as a 'hot' link - i.e. clicking on it immediately opens the web site.
Strange
Anyway, glad the information was useful to someone.

----- and having been away for this evening's Dinner it now works for me as well !!......Must be the way I pressed the computer keys earlier on ??
I also like the look of that 6" vert Boiler mainly as a steam producer for "next stage" steam testing of assemblies after proving on air....
