I was lucky enough to get a nice digital Caliper for Christmas (which seems to more reliably return to zero than my current one, that will be demoted to scribing duties...). Also a rather common site on the railways (and eBay) was this present from my mum; a genuinely useable piece of Railwayana in need of mild restoration...

These are great for LED bulbs, which you can get of various auctions sites (Maglite LED Upgrade Conversion Cree TTS bulb for 3d 4d 5d or 6d / C cell Torch) and the batteries are also available..

The only “Engineering things” I got were a fur lined shirt to wear in the workshop when it’s cold and a letter opener out of a cracker!!

Not sure if it counts as engineering but I got this hat from a family member. PC271991 by Mr Swarf, on Flickr I think I need to get cracking on that Doris in order to use it. Paul

Due to an unexpected visit from some of Joyce's friends ( Chat--chat etc )etc I was given something called}----> "Time"..
I took this into the Main Workshop and used it to prep The Bear's tender bogie wheels and axles prior to machining......
