The most knowlegeable source of information on silver soldering and brazing for the model engineer is there.
See Glen or Shaun.

Sorry I won't be able to see Roger's latest creations 'in the flesh'. Regards to all and if anyone is around on Saturday let me know if you want to meet up. Stuck in Germany tonight due to the strike and hope to get home tomorrow so Friday I can catch my plane.

I feel a bit conned as they put in the small print is that they chisel out another 2.05 for 'booking and transaction fees Quote( so in order to make money See has to charge a little bit on top.) for running the site, and when they do they make it sound like we are doing them a favour
Senior ticket 10.50 PLUS 1.05 transaction PLUS 1.50 booking means i pay 13.05 in advance instead of 10.50 at the door
I cannot see anyone on here going up to the cash desk and on buying a ticket being told 'OH i now need 1.50 for handing it to you and 1.05 for the upkeep of the ticket machine' accepting this load of tosh face to face
However in my eyes £2.55 on 10.50 is not 'a little bit' but nearer 25% BIG bit
AND i bet i wont get express entry either. because i wil be queueing up with all the other mugs who thought they would be saving money
Remember that for next year folks, that £2.55 could be put to spending at a stall instead of the hand wringing website owners
My grandmother had an expression about operators like this, along the lines of they would 'remove the outer layer of a stool for a ha'penny' ( it has been cleaned up )
I am only basing my annoyance on the fact that i am in the process of getting a site up and running which also will be taking payments 24/7
and that is going to set me back about 2000.00 setting up plus 30.00pm running costs. So next year i shall be lining up with the others to pay at the desk

Silver fox I don’t follow your argument. They charged a transaction fee and postage if you want advance tickets posted, however, if you bought “on-line” and printed them out at home, they were only £10.50 each. I bought 16 for the lad at my MES, so got a 10% discount ie a further £1.05 discount on the advance ticket saving of £1.00, so can’t understand why anyone would queue on the day.

Andy
Would you like to see my invoice for 13.05?
Ticket 10.50 Transaction fee 1.50 booking fee 1.05
And it was print at home and ordered yesterday
They are all at this 'add on ' for doing basically nothing Theaters. football clubs, you name them and the ticket price bears no relation to what they charge you

Silver fox No need to seethe invoice, just can’t understand why you had to pay these charges when I didn’t. I do agrree, however, that these stealth charges ought to be banned. Especially as buying on line you are doing all the work, using your ink and paper and their account gets automatically credited with absolutely no work on the seller’s side.
Worst I have had was buying tickets fir the Royal Albert Hall. You click on seat prices that look OK, then get charged extra, then find that the face price of the tickets is less than the original price you clicked.
Now that charges for using a credit card have been banned, they’ve just found another way. I wonder if DVLC are still charging extra for buying car tax by credit card ?

From the email I received
Order summary London Model Engineering Exhibition- Meridienne Ex 18-20 January 2019 Alexandra Palace, London
2 x Adult 15+
£11.50 Total £23.00
It is worth noting that although I did this from the Meridenne website the email is from "SEE Tickets" as the text is different (ignoring the Senior) I can only assume that we managed to actually buy from different places, also my ticket does not specify a particular day.
Very strange......

If Adam doesn't mind, may I suggest that anyone wishing to meet up on Friday makes their way to the Beechhurst stand at 2 o-clock?
That gives everyone a chance to get to the venue or have lunch before meeting up.

Busy day setting up at "Ali Pali". Quite a few models were being trundled in and the usual dealers seemed to be there. Plenty of space around the stands and we did not need to hide our compressor under the table. I am not sure how much time I will have tomorrow to look around as I will have to share Stewarding our club stand. They have already salted all the steps leading into the building and they are gritting the roads around the area. Hopefully they will have the heating on tomorrow.

Fine by me, you'll spot the Jinty and Wagons raised up with Mr & Mrs Cro on show amoungst many other items from the workshop! I have a few castings people have asked to see (don't worry not trading on the stand) so if anyone Is interested let me know and I'll dig them out. Adam
