Hello, This is to warn all.
I used this company to clear my workshop which they did well and paid up.
I got to trust them. They took my M/E ect no price agreement (70 vols. all bound) plus other books, and a load of Old glory, went away saying they would pay next visit.
I have contacted them by phone and E-mail they have got back they say they have paid, I disagree I now how much they paid and accounted for all the cash.
Albert
This is a Midlands based clearance company.

Theres no point in warning us about an anonymous company is there? We need to know the name and where they are in order to avoid them. All this has done now is make us suspicious of any ME clearance company in the Midlands, including any innocent ones.
Call me Mr Suspicious if you like, but no way anyone takes stuff off my premises unless the money (cash or cleared funds) is my pocket first.

We went through all this with Lynx a few years ago if you remember.......
If I write}--- "They are a bunch of crooks" then that's a definitive statement I have made which requires the support of proof positive in order to stop it being considered libelous
However,
If I write}---"In my opinion they are a bunch of crooks" then that is just me sounding off with my own unique views!! .......Not illegal unless you are a Newspaper Owner / Editor and have a "D" notice slapped on you !!
The Forum owner and Moderators might be seen in the same light as the Newspapers to a certain degree....
Alas "Trust" these days is a fast diminishing commodity,...........allegedly !!
Take the hit-- learn the lesson -----move on.....Sorry.

You could always put a list of all firms in the area and leave that one off!!!
A bit like the radio get out when someone mentions sainwaitco food stores and the announcer adds 'other stores are available'
However it may get smaller should any of those also be found to be one of the 'iffy' variety (lol)

Albert Hello Albert, So, when they "get better" will you let us know ?........and thus by default you'll also be telling us who they are at this moment in time ....in which case why not just tell us now ?? I think you might find that there is more than one firm available......in which case your reluctance to expose the one party is not doing the other's reputations any good, is it ??...tarred with the same brush etc...potential loss of revenue....etc..........For their sakes you have to "print and be dammed" as it were... Best regards Alan

Is this the firm that not only purchases workshops but also sweeps them clean?
Nudge nudge.
Pete.

I bought my Drummond round bed lathe from them via a bid on ebay, and found them OK to deal with over that, but I've no experience about selling to them. They are, as you can tell from their website an organisation which will buy and sell just about anything, and are not hugely knowledgeable about machine tools.

Unfortunately one's expectations of dearly loved assets often exceeds the market on that day so being a clearnace org and a seller must be a bit of a soul destroying job! For example, my locos are a pile of gold (red gold) whereas my qwife thinks they are a pile of s***! D
