Like Stevep I have PTFE 'rings' on my piston valve bobbins and have had no problems at all. They were made to be a very gentle push fit into the bronze valve liners and have a small clearance under the 'rings' to allow the rings to 'swell' if that's the right term. While a good finish is needed for any cylinder it is vital where PTFE is used to ensure they aren't scored or damaged. This is one of my valve bobbins fitted with PTFE 'rings'. The shoulders of the bronze bobbins have been relieved to ensure they don't interfere with the valve events. Jim
