Hi, I'm new to this model engineering business and have started building LBSC's Maisie. I've started the tender and have hit a problem with the location of the buffers. If I drill the holes as per drawing the it conflicts withe ends of the tender frame plate. I thought about brazing the buffer beam angles on and then threading straight through into the buffer beam and angle but that leaves no space for the thread end of the buffer. I just wondered if anybody else had encountered this problem and how they resolved it.

Not on Maisie, but on Doris - the same problem. I drilled and counterbored the stocks from both ends, and tapped and counterbored the heads. A screw, fitted from the back of the stock, secures the spring in place, and the stock is then fitted with both a short threaded boss into the buffer beam, plus the four screws in the corner.
