Your local MES, if they test and certify boilers, will have a pressure gauge which has been tested and certified as accurate. In my club, and I would expect in any other one, the builder's boiler gauge is compared to the certified one during boiler tests.

I'll throw it at my boiler inspector next time I'm there.

It will be excellent for testing injectors as well - wish I had one.

Thats a good point. I might make a manifold for it so I can take off steam to feed other things, for testing injectors or even running other engines. I like seeing small engines either just ticking over smoothly, or running with a proper load. As a result I don't imagine my 10H engine will trouble this one much without a load, so a take off to do other things would be quite cool.
One other thing whilst I think about it; maybe I should make up a small dynamo as a load for it. Its something to think about before I go committing to the layout on the board. I've already got a small hand pump for topping up the water to accommodate somewhere.

Good luck

Thanks Tim, it does look ideal but it's a bit out of the way for collection and he won't post... Thank you very much for thinking of me though!

No, I won't post, because as the ad says it isn't one of Stuarts small dynamos, its one off their lighting set, probably 8" dia, weighing 20kg or so, plus the switchboard. You'd need a 5A to run it, a 10 has no chance.

I'll make some nicer looking caps for it though, just bolting a standard looking modern motor on there is beyond the pale.
