Of late I've been toying with the idea of returning to a very early interest namely that of Big Band music and in particular learning to play a saxophone..... Being made mainly of sheet Brass with soldering, forming, etc the manufacture has a lot in common with some of our own processes.......... Have a look at this}------------(Re-Edited) www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH1YzGqt1HI&feature=youtu.be ------------ I understand about the current content fears etc. but this shows good use of flame and soldering methods and I thought it worth a look ??

Alan Comes up as 'not found'
Maybe as well, given current discussions regarding content thought unsuitable for this increasingly narrow minded site.

I am down by the sea for our long Bank Holiday weekend. "Liberation Day" or as I call it "Changing Sides Day". There are many of these travelling orchestras with roots going back decades. I don't know much or follow any in particular but every town has it's annual dance at which thy try to out do each other with a top 'orchestra'. The bands seem to do alright as they travel around in brand new specially built coaches. Our local town Cambiano puts on a good show and down on the coast we get a weekly dance during the summer. All accompanied with good food and wine. Back to working on the flat. I had a disaster yesterday. The final socket in the whole flat to bring up to modern standards and whilst chopping out to install the larger pattress box I drilled in to a waste water pipe....

What I think you need to do is save some time such that, in this case, you could have got to the agent earlier. Can you think of a way you can save time? Maybe others on the forum could also give advice on how you can save time? Have a think

Don't put new batteries in the workshop clock. That way it's always quarter to three. 😂

Please Alan take this to "off topic". This is as bad as the swinging sax shop in Croyden, this is for engineers, not models!!!! D

Have you looked at the film Alan put in the first post? I found the sheet brass manipulation fascinating, and relevant to a lot of us I think.

Thanks ettingtonliam---------that's exactly why I posted it in the first place.....ie the manipulation of sheet Brass and the associated softening proceedure......Better a moving picture( in this case ) than the proverbial 10,000 words to help the newcomer, don't you think ??.......Anyway, I'm glad some of you found it of interest.......
