Probably is off topic, but if you can find a video showing the manufacturing process-----.

Worse than being off topic, you don't say what it's about in the title. Then we have a picture of an unknown object, so none the wiser after opening the thread.

Hi Wilf.
I was a bit confused when I opened the thread but when I clicked on the '18.5K people are talking about this', a video came up. I'm guessing this is about 3D printing but it's all in a weird language so I can't read anything. It shows 2 halves of a number of different shapes that fit together perfectly. So much so that there is no sign of a join line. It's a fantastic result however it's made.
Am I right in thinking this is 3D printing Ron? Or is it a fantastic bit of machining?
Bob.

It's done my machining. It's probably demonstrating the immensely accurate control that the CNC machines have these days.

I've just copied what I thought was the title of the feature and asked Google to translate it but didn't get a lot from that, but apparently this is something to do with polishing. When you watch the video to the end, you see them put 2 pieces together and rub together to get all air out from between the 2 pieces and that sticks them together as if they were magnetised. That means the finish must be sub micron! The join line is non existent too, so the difference in surfaces of the 2 pieces that fit together must be close to that as well. It's absolutely amazing from an engineering point of view, so I guess, Ron, it is posted in the right section.
Bob.
Edit. Hi Mike. You posted just as I did so I didn't see your post. If that is CNC, the mind boggles at the accuracy!!!!

That ant is unbelievable. Well it would be if we hadn't seen the video!!! The ant had to be drawn up in 3D too. That couldn't have been done in 5 minutes either!!

those earlier odd-shaped items reminded me of "Wringing" two, perfectly flat test pieces together to the point where atmospheric pressure stopped them from coming apart...
