Friday for me.
BTW. I notice that our recognition badge is not easily seen against the usual black jackets (anoraks ?) favoured by us ME types. Any suggestions - apart from wearing our individual wife's /partner's pink jacket, that is ?

Andy,
I suggested it was pinned in the middle of a piece of A4 before wearing it proudly on the chest.
There were no takers, indeed some were even quite hostile.
And another thing... What to buy?
Suggestion ONE: a block of (strike this 60mm) correction 1-3/4" square steel long enough to make a rear tool post.

Hi All,
Friday, I think I should be recogniseable, without a badge, I'm 5 foot and a little bit and my oppo is just a tad short of 7 feet. It's quite handy, I tell him what I want and he leans over the 2 rows of people in front of me and picks it up. Ha - Ha.
Chris.

Hello All,
Nice to see the forum is busy again, with lots of interesting and diverse topics ;D!!
Also where do you get these badges you all seem to have but me, that if I qualify for one or not?
I would really like to put some faces to names, and will be visiting on the friday if anyone wants to meet up for a chat?
Regards James.

Hello all,
May I suggest we members with badges or not, meet in the bar at 12? I met "the Viffer" and his mate in there a couple of years ago and we had a good laugh. Please do come along. Don't worry, I've been saving up for a couple of years, I'll buy my own!
Regards,
Waggy.

Do you mean the bar by the bizarre water feature near the corridor entrance?

I should be there tomorrow(Friday). Unlike at ASCOT I will not be trying to extort money from people (In exchange for raffle tickets) But as I don't drink, I will not be visiting the bar...

Oh all right then. I plan to be in the bar about midday Saturday wearing a red top and looking thirsty. Glad to meet anyone who fancies a swift half of lemonade or beer. Cheers!

What's wrong with Sundays?

"Whit's wrang wi Sundays ?", ye ask. It's the Sabbath ye ken - and we dinna drink strong liquor on the Sabbath.
Seriously. Arrived at AliPali circa 11.30am via public transport and Freedom-Pass as part of a "group" from WDMES. First time I haven't been up by car and been there "before the gates opened". Consequently, it seemed too early to go drinking at 12 noon - almost as I stepped through the door.
SO - - - -
I looked for a fellow badge-wearers whilst walking around. Not a sausage ! Narry a one between 11.30 and 15.00 - when we left.
Please tell me you didn't spend the whole day in the bar !

Hah reminds me of the story about the Wee Free (for whom I have the greatest respect btw) Minister dining at an Oxbridge college. The port comes round and the Minister says "I'd rather commit adultery". The man next to him pushes his glass away saying "I didn't know there was a choice".

A-ha. Just exactly ! That sounds like the sort of remark a "Wee-free meenister" would make.
But back to the question. Where were you all ?

I was there today (Friday) with my other half but I'll be going again tomorrow (Saturday) to grab some more bits for my engine.
If anyone see's someone wearing a black fleece with safety 365 on the right sleeve and Network rail on the front, please say hi as it would be nice to put some faces to names.
Hope to see some of you tomorrow Jamie
