More than 15 years ago I built two 5" Lions , one was steam tested and operated every now and then , I also took it to a few other clubs , eventually I sold it to a club member a few years ago . The second engine was ready for steam test then but the engine was shelved for all those years waiting for the D day which came last Sunday . I must admit I was concerned that I may have a few problems but to my surprise the engine tested very well and behaved itself on the track , a few other members had a drive , it went for over two hours without any problems , the only problem I had was that I forgot my camera and the video camera , so I have no photo or video to post , hopefully next time I run it if I don't forget again .

I'm surprised you had any doubt!
I like Lion, great play thing. I must get on with the new boiler for ours and get her in steam again.

The doubt was there because of the 15 plus years sitting idle .

Well done, Shawki. I'll warrant that you were not at all surprised that she performed, despite the long wait. It's always a nice moment, but the piston doesn't know what else to do! Sorry about the camera, but that would only prove that you have one. Best wishes, Don.

The doubt was there because of the 15 plus years sitting idle . --------------Quality in at the beginning will still be there 15 years later !!........I have two 1975 motorcycles}--- a Honda GL1000 Goldwing and a Triumph T140 750 Bonneville.....Guess which one takes Joyce and myself on a weeks cruising holiday with no problems and which one keeps the Middle-Eastern Oil industry going ??
