In the past for moving heavy things about eg motor cycle engines and the like i used to "borrow" the children's skateboard very useful just lean it to get round corners.

I hate being picky but the size of the blocks seem out of proportion to the beautiful engine .The one i built the flywheel is 7 inches dia and that would make your blocks in full scale over 4foot long and a smaller brick would seem more appropriate .Sorry i have no room to talk i build something but never get around to painting and finishing.

In the seventies money was tight and once you wore something for work the smell of suds oil NEVER left them and the overalls they supplied were full of patches as well.

Roger a home made card means a lot more than a email i have friends in Holland and have NEVER received a shop bought card they buy the components or some are scratch built from drawings or paintings and take a lot of time to do there is more time, effort and thought in that than a quick email or shop bought card.

The drawing and the so called build notes do not mention drilling or grub screws in the valve gear it is to drawing dimensions. I bought it part built i have done a lot of work on it that having first seen it you would have thought a lot of the parts would have been there that wasn't build notes are in Dons llas in two issues and covers about eight pages and the valve gear about half a paragraph just saying it is Alan valve gear and built like launch gear. There is very little on the web and what there is is not very complementary on that type of gear.I shall need more than good luck Malcolm more likely a fourteen pound sledge hammer. Thanks for your suggestions i will drill and tap a couple of 3mm tapped holes and see what happens.

Hi thanks for the replies if you move the reversing lever it moves the reach rod that turns the weighshaft and that is all the the shaft turns inside the valve gear but nothing else moves.
