Hi Hayden
Just been reading some of the comments above...I wouldn't try to judge a colour on a monitor... it will never be correct even if the monitor has been calibrated...I don't know the RAL codes but it seems that Klendo has got his info from a good source... if so I personally would go with that
regards
Pete

Pete.
Yes I will use this information from Klendo. Just need to do some testing on flat plate with undercoats as will be used on the Maisie but need that extra can of RAL 6037.
The Chassis and works have ben cleaned with a bath in mild de-greaser and flushed clean. I dried her with warm air and then oiled all the working parts, bearings and axel boxes plus wiped her with kerosene. Much better and now can see how she was constructed. There is a steam brake cylinder but will not make active.
The smokebox is now back to bare metal and smokebox cradle will be cleaned today back to metal.

Would the above colours which were mentioned with the RAL also be accurate for painting Great Northern Class A1 as it was painted in 1922? The reason I ask this is because I live in Australia and cannot get Phoenix Paints delivered.

I have some Phoenix Paints GNR Green actually and I should go and get some colour matched. It would be interesting to see what RAL colour they determine the paint to be equivalent too.
In the end I chose what I thought was best and what I liked. It certainly is not a yellowish apple green but they all seem to be different anyway.
I have the ultimate excuse in that I am colour blind, I'm right and everyone else is wrong!! I cannot lose.
