AND I was not going to download any Photos tonight!!! That is a lovely Lathe Alan. That is the trouble with space when something turns up and you cant resist space is found. The car had been booked in at a (New to us) Garage at 2.30 and it had to be rebuilt with its annual back seats installed and a clean out of sawdust, sand , leaves. and the last 20 shopping bills. FREE SHIPPING FRIDAY had caught my eye unfortunately and a part SUPERBLY BUILT MIDGE had smiled to me. It was too easy and 9305 arrived in the shopping basket and was confirmed with a email almost instantly. Give her a week to arrive and all would be fine. Not with TRACK YOUR PALLET!!! Lucky I was in mid third rear seat installation when the lorry arrived. Overnight was not bargained for! Big box lets the car fail to get to its test. No we tried moving 250 KG but on home dug gravel from the garden no. Each part was lugged out and stacked. The box folded and a quick lunch downed. Yes the car passed wonderfully. Sat looking for something to make from the drawings included!!!! Almost a bolt together kit. David and Lily. A day away from the Workshop.

I understand they were built for use at Swansea Docks. www.stationroadsteam.com/7-14-inch-gauge-gwr-11xx-0-4-0t-stock-code-8700/Pete.

Hi Peter, thanks for that link-----yes, I recognise the GWR loco now but didn't know the model name --- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GWR_1101_Class ----- I seem to remember seeing a 5" gauge one for sale sometime ago but cant think when that was.....

YES A very posed picture of Lily of course for a bit of fun. SHE ( The Midge of course) Not Lily. Weighs in at 113 KGs so 4 and a half bags of sand or cement or Balast. The odd spare parts are from a different builder and do not match the Quality of the chassis so far.
Today I finished off the floor and began insulating the last bit above the long window. Yes the tricky bit. Lily sanded and then handed bits up to me to fit the second batten light. What a difference for working.
David and Lily.

Look forward to seeing the Midge progress David! Nearly been an owner twice now. One day...... Pete. Hi Pete, I now have a set of drawings which could come in handy for you to have copy's of. They seem to be quite rare for such a compact 7 1/4" locomotive. These days CNC wheels and cylinders from SOLID are the way to go. I do all my drawings on A3 for the parts which are very convenient for use in the workshop. Yes even the frames in 2 halves. I seem to have a love of Dock Tanks the 2 F had several hours spent upon tonight and suddenly all the bolts lined up and bolted 2 components together. Obvious way of doing it. All in Metric so we know what Roger will be building next. He jokes. David and Lily They only do black ones.

Hi David, I was born in Newport, South Wales, so saw plenty of dock tank engines from a very young age. I really loved seeing them shunting wagons up the middle of the streets. Plus all the colliery ones operating on the way up to Ebbw Vale to visit my grandmother, and there were plenty more hard at work in the steelworks itself. Wonderful images in my head! Pete.

A pleasant few hours making my cyinders again for my Wild Rose. Used the techniques taught to me by SimplyLoco (John) when he showed me his workshop, using filing buttons to help me make the half radiused cylinders.

Ordered 2 buffer beams from my friendly laser cutter approximately 30kg each. I'm beginning to wonder if I need to build a crane out the back first

A damp start to the day saw us inside fitting odd shaped insulation and sticking other bits in place. An odd moment of miss measuring cut out a board too thin!!!! But I will need 3 of these in other places. The second board. About 4 feet by 18 inches went in perfectly. The afternoon saw the last half board of the roof in place. Instant cold when the sun went round the house.
Reverted to my odd jobs of filing Jinty wheel spokes. All projects trying to make it quickly onto the track are going slower now the success of the 4500 wheels came out so well. I almost did one, Backs only in the remaining 1 and a 1/2 hours.
Just now completed the drawing for Stay 7 on the 2 F. All in Metric as it is so easy to mark out, and my drawing makes it a pleasure. Many hours spent trying to see what was meant on the original drawing. (So few built)
David who uses inches to build the Workshop, and Lily who helps in Centimeters.

I hacked up some bits of oak, bolted them together and then bolted some some plummer blocks to the bottom. The plummer blocks support a pair of wheel sets from PNP railways. Hey presto one Dinorwic style flat wagon. I still need the square nuts to arrive, counterbore for the bolt heads to sit below the surface enabling the planking to sit flat, make and fix the couplings then glue sand and wax It will be useful to carry a water tank or coal box and a place to rest a mug of tea 20201127_150709 by Sigma Projects, on Flickr 20201127_150539 by Sigma Projects, on Flickr 20201127_150511 by Sigma Projects, on Flickr 20201127_150443 by Sigma Projects, on Flickr
