This came up in the A4 thread but I thought that as it is a useful tip it deserves it's own thread.
We were discussing how images often need to be scaled differently in the x axis compared to the y axis and I reported this trick we have used for years in the mapping industry to adapt satellite imagery onto flat earth (mercator) mapping.
If you fit the image on one axis and then make the image into a block you can then apply independent scaling to the other axis within the block command and thus ensure both axis are to scale. This will be retained even if you then explode the block back to the image.

AHh but what about a LNER B17 expansion link bracket where the x,y,and z axis are all different ratios
The dims on the 5in drawing are not an 'exact' scale equivalent in any of them so in order to keep these correct i had to alter each plane goo fun as well!
