Yes for to many years I have been building one and wish to continue but now I have the ultimate cheat and a superb bit of HISTORY! And they turn out to be quite a lump of metal to tie down in the back of the car when you need to transport them. She has some issues like paintwork and possible leaking stays but Trevor Shortlands own model is my 60th Birthday present!!! Her rods are lovely and tight so she has just been gently steamed, and on looking carefully superbly put together. 4121 for anyone interested in full size lives at Tyseley so I have to wait several months for an Open Day in order for a look over.
Our last long weekend 22 to 25 FEB. Began at the Llangollen Railway and a look round the works at of course a Large Prairie and others. 5166 was of course also at Tyseley but I got a round of Photos in. Lovely afternoon tea on the platform overlooking the river. Saturday saw the East Lancashire Railway and a sun drenched City of Wells looking superb. We did the Tram right across Manchester from my old town of Altrincham. Later a visit to an old School friend revealed a Prairie under his bench. All finished, all usually steamed in 7 1/4"!!! Sunday it must be Oldham and Alan and Waggy from here made an appearance. What a lovely collection of models! And lots of chats! Monday saw us pick up the model and on passing through Nottingham... Called in to Polly Models and got a collection of bits. Now there is a dream Workshop!! OOH just managed to squeeze in afternoon tea at Quorn Station. Nothing running but our third Railway in 4 days.
All good fun. David and Lily.

4121 was listed in the 'steam engines for sale' website last year. I contacted the seller who said that the boiler required work - leaking around some tubes and some stays in the firebox - possibly looking in the direction of a new boiler. Nothing that can't be restored by an interested 'pair of hands' of course and the end product will be a loco that runs superbly. On a slightly different note; I spotted you at Ally Pally (you are very easy to spot!) and I just wanted to say hello but you were deep in conversation with someone. Another time perhaps.

I have finally got round to putting pictures up on here. The ancient Computer windows from the Last Century does not help. But at least I know where all the knobs, levers and buttons are!!! Well here she is and at the moment total inspiration to get on with the ones being built. Now I have more Machinery and more time to do them!!! Here she is at Reading. Must get a SHED PLATE! David and Lily.
