You've probably all seen the www.homeworkshop.org website, a most useful site started by the late John Stevenson for buying, selling and finding our sort of tools and equipment. Normally its updated daily, or every couple of days at most, but it hasn't been updated now since last Saturday. Anybody any idea if everything is OK there? There must be a fair backlog of ads waiting to go on, certainly theres some of mine waiting since Tuesday.

I won't give the reasons here on the open forum but Adam (John's Son) won't be able to give the site his attention for a while. Hopefully normal service will return soon.

Thanks for that info Jason. I hope Adam overcomes whatever problems hes having soon. Its odd though, theres a few updated ads, maybe 2 every day, but all for a chap called Dave Corner, nobody else seems successful.

I think as he sells a lot on there they have probably allowed him to place the adds without any input from them.
In the mean time you can always use the free classifieds on ME forum.

An update for Ketan at ARC Euro who had previously advised me of the situation.
Many on here are aware that Adam Stevenson (son of late John Stevenson) runs the homeworkshop.org.uk site.
Unfortunately, Adam was admitted to hospital on 4th August. Although at present I am unable to go into detail, he is likely to be in the hospital for the next three to four weeks. So, the homeworkshop site is not being updated at present.
If any members on this forum are members on other forums where the subject of inactivity of the Homeworkshop.org.uk site is raised, please feel free to share this information.
If there is any update, I will post on here.
Ketan at ARC.

Yes, good wishes to Adam for a speedy recovery. I thought he had some help now with the website - I assume that was opnly temporary? Ian

Adam has it back up and running but please don't overloadĀ him with all those adverts you have not been able to place over the last six weeks.

Great news. I'm sure some of my garage clearout will be on there in the next couple of months. Ian

I don't know if this is just me, but I've been having trouble getting the Homeworkshop website to load this afternoon. I keep getting a message saying that it isn't available, and has closed out because the site took too long to respond.
Anybody else having this problem?

Yes, I did. But I have had similar problems with the homeworkshop site in the past and it has turned out to be a temporary glitch.

Well, he was reported as being out of hospital, so lets hope he hasn't had a relapse.

This could have been a problem of my own (or BTs) making. In desperation resorted to the only thing I know, switched my router off and switched it back on again, and lo! I can access Homeworkshop site again!

I can access Homeworkshop site again! That was a happy coincidence, although the conspiracy theorists would have you think otherwise... John
