Hello Malcolm, Its only a dummy. It's a coppy of a Stones Turbo generator and is available as a lost wax kit. These engines usually were fitted with Pyle National generators and this particular '24' class engine was one of a few that had replacement Stones turbos fitted toward the end of their lives. This engine will be numbered 2402 because of this and I had a spare one in stock. Regards, Barry

Love the way you've created the flare and perfect fit for the steam dome and chimney Barry. They look perfect and do so much to create that NSWGR 'look'

Thanks Jim. Have to do my best for the two great blokes that started it and didn't live to finish the project.

Getting on with the detailwork, I really enjoy this part of the job. It brings the engine to life and ads character.

The reverser screw and linkages are done and working well. At this rate with the current crisis it will be finished before long. Isn't it great to have a hobby like this to fall back on and keep the grey matter working? We will soon be facing a comprehensive lock down here I think. Missing club activities and contact is a bit hard to take.

Iv'e been working on the dummy westinghouse pump. It's all a brass fabrication and a fairly close coppy of the full size one as I was able to measure one up. going well so far. It is a bit of a mind puzzle to work out how to go about the construction as there a lot of individual bits.

It looks superb Barry as does all your workmanship. We're lucky having these hobbies to keep us off the streets during the current lock down.

I have mounted the dummy compressor onto the smokebox side ready for all of the dummy pipework that goes with it.

The pump is finished with all of its pipe work added. This side of the engine only requires the water feed pipe and clack to complete.

The flash makes it look better than it really is. I can feel the heat off the smoke box and the pant of the WHB pump

The flash makes it look better than it really is. Your pump is an absolute gem to start with and the flash just highlights the fact Barry.

My favourite class of loco. Every Monday morning I watched them round the bend just west of Katoomba Station as they headed the morning 'Fish' from Mt Victoria to Sydney and stopping at Katoomba where I caught it, to pick up commuters and day passengers to Sydney.
All Stations to Valley Heights hence Parramatta, Strathfield and Central as I recall. That was back in 1958<1960.
