For the primary water filter I used the tea holder from the tea pot. It is a fine brass mesh and catches and bits of foriegn matter as the water is poured into the tender. [Snip] I wonder if GWRDriver uses a tea pot? Haven't they had problems with tea over there, ever since that lamentable episode in Boston? Gary

Gary, I couldn't exist (at least in any state of respectability) without my kettle, teapot, and strainer.
As for the Boston tea, I can't comment as I didn't have a chance to sample it, but rumours at the time were that it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

I do indeed. White enamel, with blue rims. I've forgotten who it came from, Beasley's perhaps. Unfortunately I've seen better enamelware.

Falconware is the ones you want! When I stopped drinking I started getting into the habit of making three mugs worth of tea in a billy can and working through that all evening...
On the original subject, as guided here I've started using paint sprayer filters as my filtering media and I've not looked back.

Excellent suggestion . . . on the filters.
