I have a kit of parts and drawings for a gauge 1 version of LBSC's Juliet. The kit was marketed by Loco Steam. Has anyone ever seen this built in gauge 1? The drawings leave a lot to be desired .

LBSC described a Gauge 1 Juliet (i.e. half the size of the 3.5"G one) in a few articles at the same time as he described the 3.5"g one. The idea was that potential builders could use the instructions for the 3.5"g Juliet and built a small version from the rather sketchy drawings. I don't have the relevant issues of ME, but if you could get hold of them you might find the drawings made more sense when seen alongside the "words and music".
But LBSC's drawings usually took a degree of interpretation - he freely acknowledged that he had had no drawing board training and was doing sketches to try to illustrate the ideas in his mind.

And he often used to include stuff in the description which wasn't even on the drawings. So it's well worth reading the instructions very carefully.

Hi, I don't know if I'm allowed to link to the John Tom Site, but on there you will find the 3.5" gauge Juliet as a download which is the full series of articles that describe the loco.
You'll notice that the tanks and superstructure are not drawn and are instead refered to, in usual LBSC manner.i think he says "they are the same as Mollyette in outline so need no further explanation"
Regards
Jon

I came across this forum whilst trying to source a set of castings for LBSC’s G1 Juliette. It may be a little late in the day but I have just finished restoring my late fathers version if I can work out how to add a photo I will do. I took measurements and made drawings as I went the plan being to make my own

See the sticky thread at the top of his board on how to add pictures.

Yo can't attach things directly to the forum - you have to 'host' the pictures on a hosting site like Imgur or Flickr, and embed the link.
