Hi, does anyone have detail of the steam turret, particularly the Bush on the top of the firebox.. I think mine has a restriction on steam feed into the turret as pressure read on the gauge drops everytime I blow the whistle.
I have poked and prodded around with some fine wire and a torch into the Bush but can't make heads of tails of it. I suspect it is fed by a pipe into the Bush that is bent up into the steam space in which case this may be the bottle neck and no way to adjust

Yes, there's a pipe that feeds the bush from the dome. If you take the top off the dome you should see the other end, so you might be able to attack from there. (It makes setting up a hydraulic test a piece of cake.) If the cone of the valve is a bit over-large this could also restrict the steam flow. That said, what you report is quite normal. The whistle requires a significant volume of steam, which robs the pressure gauge. Hardly serious; when you need to blow the whistle, your attention is unlikely to be focussed on the pressure reading! HTH Gary
