Can anyone give me any ideas on machining 60/40 lead solder [speeds,coolant,tools ect] Thanks in advance

It's not something I've done, it's so soft it can be cut with a scalpel! I'd use Carbide end mills because they are as sharp as a razor. Ones recommended for Aluminium would probably be ideal, but anything ought to work. Personally I'd use a cutting oil and go very slowly with a low rpm. The last thing you want is to generate any heat, because the solder will melt.
