A friend has this engine here in the Stated that his grandfather built. I am assisting him to see just what hae has and if we can possibly get it running. I have built 6 coal fired live steam engines so I am familiar with what is needed however I am not familiar with the liquid firing of this engine. The burner is odd and we will have to figure out how it mounts and how to fire it. I would love to hear from anyone that can assist me with this. Thanks, Fred V

Hi Fred, Check the how to post pictures in the general section at the top. Same section as this one. You need to host your pictures somewhere. All explained in the thread.
Going to be interesting to see what you have. I had a link to a guys site Nelson Locomotive Works who did a Shay build which he liquid fired, the links not working ! He may have shifted it or worse not be with us anymore. His site had some really interesting stuff in the build threads
Cheers Kerrin

That didn't work. I clicked the image icon and a box appeared and I pasted the url to my photobucket page and clicked "post image".

Hi Fred.
Don't bother with using the URL. Copy and paste the BBCode into your post on here and the photo will appear here. Looking forward to seeing what you have.
Bob.

When I clicked on the link above, it didn't work. I've just tried again and it did work. Using the BBCode will help a great deal.
Now I see you have another very interesting project on the go!!! A 3-wheel Morgan no less!! Keep us informed on that one too. There are a lot on this site who would be interested, I'm sure. I used to live just 6 miles from the Morgan factory, in Malvern, back in the 1950s. We regularly saw half a dozen driving through the village on their final road test and check-up. It was quite a sight. For anyone reading this and is interested, Morgan do informal factory tours where you get up close to the guys building the cars, and are able to talk to them as long as it's not for too long. At least, when I went around, I could.
Bob.
Hi Fred. I've just sent you a PM.

I have 2 old Morgans and a replica that I built.
Any info you can share on how to use the burner would help. Fred

Hi Fred
Try right clicking the image, select 'copy image address' and paste that into the box. That's how I use to do it with photobucket and continue to do so with Imgur...good luck
Pete

Hi Pete. If you want the photo to be shown on the forum, you have to copy the BBCode and paste it into the thread, though I guess you know that. It's just that newcomers who may be reading this and haven't used forums, may not know the actual method of copying photos, from a hosting site, into the forum thread, and think that it is just a case of 'copy and paste' a link, but that doesn't normally insert the actual photo.

Bob. Yes it is BBC code but that's what is auto matically selected when right clicking an image on a hosting site, or at least that's my experience. The wording sometimes differs but as long as it has 'address' in it it should work as described. Kind regards Pete

I did it this way because there were 5 photos and one click would allow you to see all of them. The more important part of this is assistance in finding info on exactly what castings were used and how the burner works. Fred

Hi Fred.
If you copy and paste the BBCode for each photo, and insert it in your post, they all come out on here.
Bob.
Edit:- Having photos in a thread, often gets more answers, and comments, from other members, as it heightens the interest in what is being discussed. It also gets over the problem of other readers missing a link to an off-site page.
