Whilst eating my butties today I downloaded the 15 day trial version of Meshcam www.grzsoftware.com/It seems to be very easy to use, at least for 2 1/2D. Open DXF, add the thickness then tool details, feed rate etc, produces G code job done The standard version is $250 pro version $500

I have found out that Meshcam can also import picture files such as jpeg. That opens a lot of possibilities such as photographing full size nameplates and reproducing in miniature and maybe producing decorative items. It is a useful tool to have in the "box"

I have been using Meshcam for just over a year, I have found it very easy to use and it works on Mach3, my stumbling block is learning 3D cad but that’s another story.
