I was talking to some of our club members after last year's Midland Exhibition and quite a few said that they would not bother going again as they found it very disappointing. I have been going for a good few years now and it's definitely getting smaller every year with less to see and less trade stands. I did get an email the other day to say that they had had to rearrange the stand layout as they had more club stands this year which is a good sign. I will be there as usual on the N25GA stand for all four days. John Will look out for you again John and we can chew the fat and demonstrate wisdom . We have a club stand this year again, after a break. I'm assembling the stand again and taking it down for the 11th time. Sign of the times - the stand people want chairs. Suppose the next stage will be to incorporate a bed for them.

Hi Tony,
Look forward to seeing you again
I'm afraid that I am one of those who needs a chair nowadays. I just can't stand up for any length of time now
I think it's something to do with the hard floor in there. It seems to really make my legs ache.
The problem is that the stands are so crammed together that finding somewhere to actually put the chairs without being in the way is another thing!
John

Damn, I've got the Friday off. Well, if anyone comes on Friday I'll see you then. I'll try and wear something easily spotted but just look for a fat Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull with a bad limp and thats me. Only just noticed your comment Jon.... As a Jethro Tull fan, would that be Ian Anderson now, or in the 1970s when I first started listening to them? (The hair is rather different!). Cheers Malcolm.

Bald big bloke with a beard! Probably walking with a stick. Stormwatch is one of my favourite albums. Anyway, I digress!

Hi Malcolm, sorry I missed you this year….I had left by the time of your post above. I enjoyed Roger’s presentation about 3D printing and had a bit of a chat with him at the end, then left for home soon afterwards. Regards. Don

I'm back home from the exhibition. It was a nightmare drive, nearly 4 hours to Bolton. Again I was wondering why no Reeves??

Saw you and wondered if you were looking for people but couldn't get a signal to check on here. Never mind, always next year. Caught up with Adam and John B briefly, enjoyed Rogers presentation but there were a lot of people asking him questions at the end so thought best to let him do that. Saw Andy at same lecture and David on the FMES stand, also David and Lilly looking at the grey 5" GNR O1 on the Wolverhampton stand. Thought the quality was pretty high across the board this year, will share some photos next week. Enjoyed the helicopter demo outside, the Gazelle being very impressive. Regards, Dan

It was really good to catch us with a few friends from here yesterday.
I arrived to find that the presentation file only had 5 slides, instead of the 90 there should have been. It turns out that the cloud based PowerPoint doesn't update the copy on the PC, so most of it was missing. Fortunately I did have all of the images on a Pen Drive, so I spent a feverish hour trying to rebuild it from scratch. So some of the pictures shown weren't intended to be there, and other whole topics were missing. Such is life, hopefully it was of some interest, the room was full to bursting. At least they didn't walk out!
So lesson learned, that won't be happening again.

Next time we'll have to be more organised about the exact time and place of meeting. I'm getting to know more faces now, so it's not quite as difficult for me to spot people.

It seemed a much better exhibition this year with more stalls (?) and the competition entries were super. I spent more than I usually do and more than I planned to do too, and spent much more time there than usual. Just a shame the cafe has gone downhill so much - more like school dinners than the excellent fare served in previous years. Ian
