Hi Folks,
I am looking for building instructions, articles, or drawings for LBSC's Gauge 1 "Small Bass" 0-4-0 loco. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. Apparently a construction article featured in "English Mechanics" in 1930.
I saw Marc Horovitz's review of his model on his excellent website and am intriqued by "Small Bass". Marc was able to point me in the direction of the English Mechanics. Now I wish to hunt it down...
All the best,
Dave.

I have a vague idea that it was reprinted in the Workshop Masters series put out by M.E. quite a few years back

Hi Dave
I have just scanned in the articles on 'Small Bass' ready to send to you but have realised that this engine is O gauge not Gauge 1 as we first thought? If you are still interested please let me know, either way, and I can send them or delete as you like.
Cheers
Brian

Hi Havoc
I'd be happy to, I will be able to send them to you either Thursday evening or sometime Friday once I'm home from work in Luton.
As I say above the articles I have are about the O gauge version, I suppose you could scale up easily enough?
Cheers
Brian

When I have the time I'll scale them. But I'm more interested in who those models are constructed and how the pieces fit together. Making/designing an engine is easy when you have all the space. But on those small models it isn't. So I like those plans to learn from.

Thank you Tel & Brian,
I apologise, I had not checked back into the forum in March. I am pleased with the response to my request and delighted that today Brian e-mailed me the article to build the 0 gauge "Small Bass".
The 2.5" gauge society have an article available for the "Large Bass". What a fascinating series of engines this is.
All the best,
Dave.
