Hiya,
Have you guys seen the Harold Hall book "Tool and Cutter Sharpening" it's a workshop practice series book (no. 38).
It details various add-ons for your usual off-hand grinding wheel that allow you to sharpen everything from a lathe tools to end-mills.
No castings required....
Harold also describes sharpeing in a very straightforward manner.
Worth a read!

I found it worth reading for the instructions for using the cheap drill sharpening jig that various people sell. I bought one about 20 years ago and following the enclosed instructions it produced dreadful results. It's been in a drawer ever since until I read H.H's book. Using his instructions it works just fine!
It was a bit disappointing to see so much space in the book taken up by the description of a grinding rest when he had described a much better one in his "Milling - acomplete course"
