Hi.
I am returning to model engineering after a break of many years. I am now looking for a suitable locomotive for my next project.
I have looked at "highlander" and purchased drawings but these are very poorly detailed and the finished machine barely resembles a full size black 5.
Does anyone know of drawings for a scale mainline engine in 7 1/4" gauge. I don't have a preference to choice of engine but i want to build a highly detailed locomotive (i.e. all rivets in place, scale fittings, etc.....).
Thank-you all for your time and i hope someone can help me identify something for me to get started on.

Reeves do a 7 1/4 King which is designed from works drawings, Paddington which is accurate to external scale and the Dean goods among others. I dont think you will find any of the designs giving rivet detail though. Putting the detail on takes a lot of work and research that only adds to the cost. Some people wont want it either, preferring to build a 'working model' rather than a display case or museum item. My aproach is to use a published design and then do the research to make it how I want it. The other person to try is Jim Vass at homepage.ntlworld.com/jim.jvml/. He does the BR standard locos in 7 1/4, as well as a Duchess, and can supply a lot of the detailing items. Andy
