Some of you may have seen the 1/3 scale L and B Loco "TAW" based on the Milner design (one of which is now at the NRM) recently sold by Station Road Steam. If not, go to Station Road Steam Website and look in the archive section for some of Mikes excellent photos. We missed it but have since had the opportunity to steam it and are most impressed. We are in the process of planning to build one of these engines to run on the Langford and Beeliegh Railway in Essex. It will be a short term project based on putting out the heavy work, Boiler professionally built (One of a batch of three at present) laser and water jet profiling for all plate work, tanks, frames and motion. We have drawings and castings are available for major components. We have the capacity for any turning and boring, jig boring and so on outside the scope of other participants. Pipework will be standard BSP with SS valves and fittings bought in. This is a big engine weighing over a ton and eight feet long, not for the garden railway! The one just sold ran for Joe Nemeth by the way on his public railway at Oldown. Bearing in mind the economies of scale to be gained from batch production is anyone out there interested in cooperating in this venture to the mutual benefit of all participants in terms of cost and time. If so E Mail me directly Steamjohn248@Yahoo.com
