Guide bar support

Hi,

I am building a Gauge 1 Keith Cousins kit and am having difficulty in knowing the best way to fit the guide bar support that fits between the frames onto the top of the guide bar.

The support bar requires clearance drilling (10BA) through the frames and then tapping. And then drilling down through the top of the bar into the guide bar. Is it better to do the latter first and then fit between the frames or the other way around?

Any suggestions on the most efficient way of doing this would be appreciated.
