Just a thought for ME & MEW, but has the thought of wrapping this magazine in cellophane been thought of? Basically to stop the people reading it in store rather than buy it. I am a subscriber to both and it annoys me when I go in major outlets and see people reading the magazines rather than buying. Why not include a little plastic toy then you have an excuse to wrap it up.

Big newsagents will always have a 'reading' copy that they take out of the bag, I've seen staff in WHSmith opening one as they fill the shelves, although some numpty will buy the 'reading' copy! I personally wouldnt buy a 'one off' mag without at least checking the contents. Talking of wrapping, I do with they'd stop posting mags in woefully inadequate thin plastic, all mine (5) are practically open when I get them, IPC mags are the worst. EIM comes in a nice and recyclable A4 envelope, full marks to them for this. All my photocopies end up in re-labeled EIM envelopes

Hi There If I go into Smith's I will remove a magazine from the wrapper before buying it.
4346 will probably be bagged in Smiths for 6 issues at least, possibly ongoing. This is because we will be giving away free double sided plans.
regards David

I am on about the people who stand at the magazine display just reading the contents fully. A few weeks ago we went into Smiths and there was a chap actually reading ME in front of the magazine stand. After asking him to move so as I could collect a mag, on different subject, we then continued shopping in Smiths only to end up in the queue probably 20 mins later and he was still there reading the same ME mag.

Same arguments could be used here as for pirate videos. Would those people reading in the shop actually buy the magazine if they had no option to read in the shop?
I do sometimes skim a couple of articles as in the London stores there is quite a wide choice and I don't always buy ME every month.
Because of the "recession" the wife has perswaded me to subscribe to MEW to save a few pennies.

Hi There Hopefully there will be more and more content so he won't be able to read it all in 20 minutes.
When the free plans start in issue 4346 they will be bagged for the next 6 issues. regards david

He's probably reading it one handed whilst peeling an orange in the other pocket.

This month's new MEW subscription came in a grey plastic wrapper and the wife thought I'd subscribed to a more adult magazine by mistake.

At least if it is wrapped you get a new one, not the normal dog-eared, second-hand-looking ones currently on the shelves.

The magazine (half a dozen copies) was not bagged in the Watford WH Smiths yesterday 27th Feb. I suspect in fact that it wouldn't be necessary as the plans are well stapled inside.
