Hi there
Does anyone on this forum have plans/drawings for a driving car suitable for use behind a 3 1/2" gauge Tich? Is it possible to drive from a 5" gauge car with suitable buffing gear or is that felt to be a 'no-no'? Whilst I would be grateful for this fairly soon I am still a boiler and tanks away from finishing my Tich. Just wondering at the moment that's all.
Failing drawings, has anyone got one spare, or the makings thereof, they would consider selling to me?
Cheers
Brian

Ground level or elevated?
Malden DSME's elevated track has 7.25" trucks for all of 3.5, 5 and light 7.25 locos so it is certainly possible to vary the buffing gear.
I've both an elevated driving truck 5" and a ground level 5" (but slightly weary bodied) which are likely to appear on ebay soon. I'd rather sell them to one of us than a dealer so if you are interested let me know.

Sorry I should have specified elevated! Is it possible to have 3.5" ground level? I would imagine that could be a bit hairy for anyone over 'dwarf size' with regard to centre of balance etc! Having said that, during our (MESNI) visit to the Dublin ME society earleir in the year we were able to see their point which allows access from the depot onto the ground level 7.25"circuit, it has 7.25", 5" and 3.5" quite a construction!! There were pictures of it in a recent 'Link' magazine, I will have to try to scan a picture and post it for your delectation!
Ramble ramble.......................better go and do some work ;D
Cheers

For public passenger hauling 5 inch is in my opinion the smallest which is feasible. Ickenham is I believe laid with ground level 3.5.
