Totally overawed by this - I know very little about steam engines (only just getting my head around basic osc illating stationary engines), but the quality on this looks incredible to me Gotta agree been in engineering all my working life and it is a labour of love to build an engine like this first class work more pics please. Looks very good Jack! You're a man after my own heart, a good working engine can be so enhanced by a few bits of detail, pipes, brackets, etc! Well worth the effort.

Having seen Jacks work at Train Mountain the locomotive looks as good in the flesh as it does on camera, although enhanced by plenty of soot.
There is another one lurking in the UK which I think is equally as well detailed although the last time I saw it was not finished. On Jim Kreiders web site who designed the locomotive and produces the castings there are a few shots of the incomplete model.
Unfortunately I cannot seem to get the web site up for the link I will drop Jim a line and ask if it’s down.

This is probably my dream locomotive, except Jim's SAR class 25NC for the sake of patriotism - there is nothing to beat lots of plumbing on the outside.

I certainly would love to see this engine.....Peter, the owner, is a friend of mine and has a habit of taking 6 months out of life in California to come and drive 2ft gauge engines on the Ffestiniog Railway (with me). He is a total gent, though he has told me his reaction when she nose dived their turntable pit was not in his daily usual vocabulary.

I took me a while before I realised this is a model. Outstanding work combined with good photography is awesome.

Here is a little peek in the cab of the Berkshire that is now being finished. It is illuminated only by the water glass and gauge lighting. Happy Model Building Jack Attachments:

Here are a few pics of the latest Nickel Plate Berkshire. Today was it's first run at Bittercreek. A couple little leaks to tighten up and an adjustment to the oil burner and it was off to the races. It's full size sisters were all coal burners (coal is my favorite), but my client didn't want the extra work and fuss of coal. Hey, it's his engine. Were going to have another go tomorrow. Last one for now, it was a pleasure to finish up this model for Mr. Lawson and to work closely with Jim Kreider. Jim could always be counted on to provide drawings and information. And Tom was very patient, as with so many projects of this sort it took longer than anticipated. As I frequently say, "somebody up there likes me". Jack Attachments:

Thank you very much for the complement, and you may take your hat off if you like. But please, I am no better that anyone else. I am just a Bozo that's good at making things. Jack
