Typical of LNER men using water from the boiler for their tea, when at most signal boxes there was a supply of fresh water, a warm stove, and gosip about a local girl or two. No wonder I model the GWR and LBSC, plus narrow gauge.

That will be why the GWR never ran to time then, the drivers were to busy gosiping with the signalman. ;D ;D

Avoid using water from dehumidifiers and air conditioning units, it tends to absorb carbon dioxide from the air forming a weak carbonic acid. In a copper boiler this will do little harm but avoid it in steel boilers as it will lower the pH and increase corrosion
