I would have bid if he'd been interested in shipping it, he probably would have got a lot more for it if he had. Ron

Does anyone have any knowledge of the Savage Little Samson. From the web page it looks on the smaller end of the size range and a fairly straight forward build. I'm thinking about a first traction engine myself and this might fit the bill. Thanks in anticipation, Tim

Tim:
Martin Wallis articles for building the Little Samson are in the Model Engineer starting p98 in volume 184. I know that there was proposals for it in 6in, 4in, 3in, 1 1/2" and even 1"!
If you want some general info on Little Samson's then back in late 1997 (vol 179) page 732, Martin did an introduction to them.
Jo --------------- On the roller front: I agree £105K is excessive, but the brand new boiler cost over £40K so buyers of traction engines with doggy boilers beware. I believe that he's pacifying the wife by pretending that he is trying to sell it, so that he can start the next one whilst avoiding the possibility of getting a buyer.
