Newport Julian, but the Club I refer to is not local to me. From old posts of yours I see you knew Jack Thomas, I remember when he first ran his 5 inch Britannia, (the Silver Medal one) at Highfield Road and was privileged to drive one of his earlier Locomotives, possibly a Black Five or Jubilee, (I think in retrospect that the, "Five" was possibly Jim Lendon's, time is a great destroyer of memory!). I lost my driving virginity to Alf Edward's V2, "Coldstreamer" at a tender age, but was never allowed a drive of his Borwick Hall, I only got to fill the boiler on that one! John his Son just used to look down his nose at me, spotty youth that I was. Happy days all those years ago, I often wonder what happened to those Locomotives from my youth, all the owners and well known faces now long gone, hopefully they are in comfortable retirement and didn't end up as pieces of scrap!.
