Hello all,
I wondered anyone uses cad Cam software as part of their model engineering? I'm looking to try and develop some designs and would like to try some software. Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally I would want the software free or inexpensive as it would be more of a 'play around' so I don't want to heavily invest in some software.
Regards
Daniel

Daniel;
I used dxf2gcode quite a bit, but ended up purchasing CamBam. CamBam *might* have a demo mode, so you can try before you buy.
By the way, CamBam runs on Linux, and I've had it running on a Mac. You have to install a Mono package, but it works just fine. Don't know what OS you are looking for.

Regards Daniel I suggest you PM dugred, he's using a low cost system.

I have used Draftsight since it was released, it is free and a good 2D CAD package

Cam Bam has a generous free trial period. And it's good value thereafter.
