Wishing you all a grand Christmas and a happy and relaxing New Year in the workshop.
Jim.
PS: I have it on good authority that those who asked Santa for a new lathe this year could be disappointed as they wont go down modern chimneys.

Thanks Jim and all the best to you and yours for Christmas and the New Year, as always you are going to beat us to it. Correct about the lathe but I have it from a reliable source that a DRO will be coming down our chimney. Regards Paul

Yes indeed, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Canada. Rumor has it that Santa has been working on a new Miniaturization Machine that can shrink machines down to manageable size, drop them down a very small chimney, put them in place and then bring them back to the proper size. Clever man is Santa.
Cheers
Tom

I'd like to add my best wishes to you all. I've been truly stunned by the generosity of Forum members who've taken an interest in my project and taken time to guide me in the right direction. It's been a most satisfying experience and I've learned so much in a very short time. Long may it continue, we have a very special community here.

Have a good one everyone. Don't eat too much and I'm looking forward to hearing about all those Engineering tool presents that Santa is bringing you.
There's a largish box on my hall floor, bought by my wife "on-line" that looks like it might be that milling vice I've been hinting about ! It's too heavy for her to lift and I can't open it until Boxing Day, as we'll be with the family in Cambridge at Christmas, and she says it's too heavy to wrap and take up with the rest of the presents.
Apart from that, there is another smaller box that feels too heavy to be a book. Could be that precision protractor that I need !

Oh dear, I forgot to press "post quick reply" last night so this is a bit out of date, but I cannot let this pass, to Juliet's stunning photo, the only thing missing is the shovel with the bacon and eggs on it!!!
I wish you all the very best for Christmas and the New Year, and would like to say a huge thank you to all of you who have helped me when I have asked for information, that is the greatest thing about this forum, the generosity of time and the quality of the information received, thanks. Andy you have a jolly understanding wife if she knows about vices, mine thinks that it is bad news on the TV.
best wishes to everyone
Jem
