G'Day Everyone, Recently we hosted a group from an organisation that look after disabled adults. It was a great day but I started thinking about a carriage that can carry a wheelchair hence this thread. Does anyone know of such a carriage (there is one on YouTube at a place I can't pronounce but there is no detail)? I am interested any designs or specs or photos for 7.25 gauge and any info would be great fully received. Thanks, Arch

I saw one at Oxford. I think it was called Lottie because they got a grant. Over to you Denis?

Yes we have had this for the past couple of years and it is an excellent bit of kit. We started by going to design our own but realised why do that when Cromer White had done all the work. The carriage is very stable and easy to use. Lottie, as she is know by our passengers, was totally funded by the Lottery Fund without any hassle, cost was around £4500-00 if I remember. Look on our website, www.cosme.org.uk, then Railway tab, then Passengers with special needs.to see a picture of it in use. If you think it's not worth the trouble of getting one, let me just mention that a young lad would come to see the railway but could not go on it as he was in a wheel chair and he used to just sit there looking at the trains. Now we can take him around and he comes every week we are open. The smile on that lads face is priceless. If I can help in any way please do pm me. Denis

Another example is at the Swindon Club, much the same as oxford - and yes well worth the trouble. And I have ridden (or is it rode) in it, stable, quiet and great fun! Cheers David
