If you click on the member in question, within that area, top right hand, click on the cog icon drop down, and click "block member".

Guys, maybe a daft question but can I find out if I've been blocked?
Maybe this forum needs a few more tools to classify why (I've been) someone is blocked and perhaps include some form of arbitration.
I've noticed a few instances of hurling toys from prams recently and it occurs we all have bad days and it doesn't help if other folk start providing more toys to throw. It would help if words like "TROLL" and similar were banished to the naughty word file and are never seen. Maybe just help de-escalate things.
We all have pressures outside this forum and for some it is not possible to leave them outside the forum. If someone is having a rant chances are someone either here or elsewhere caused it. We must remember that there is no body language to interpret so it is far too easy to piss folk off without realising it and then have it spiral out of control and sees folk walking off into the sunset.
I though we were all grown ups here so why isn't it possible to address rising problems before they get too big. It is down to the rest of us to understand and perhaps see both sides. Can we also avoid supporting one poster against another and allow the protagonists to sort it out themselves quietly and off forum.
Better to ratchet down than to ratchet up.

I hope my sense of humor which it some is perhaps a bit rare doesn't upset anyone, I know I called a very fine photographic cabinet an old towel the other day, and think I was forgiven for that mistake, but I have no intention of insulting anyone. Is all I want out of this forum, is information and friendship, and hopefully I can give others a few words of wisdom from time to time.
best wishes
Jem

I don't want to block anyone, but I thought I would look,on the site shown by default to mobile phones this option isn't there, switching to full site the is the cog in the top right of the members page exactly as specified, note this is not the same as pressing the cog elsewhere.

You need to go to that members profile, not just use the gear icon on the post. Generally speaking, blocking usually hides posts made by that member, and prevents that member from sending you PMs. I never understood it on a forum, as that means that threads stop making sense as people appear to be talking to no one.
