The boiler on this loco is a Reeves kit and has partly been put together all the copper work has been shaped and most of the holes marked out and some have been drilled the majority of the bushing are also made from what looks like gun metal, I will be getting an model engineer with know how to finish it off. this has been arranged. On the boiler drawing it appears to show the solid stay, the hollow stay blower valve fittings and the main steam outlet manifold feed to the super heater tubes to be screwed directly into the boiler using a 40 TPI threads in the copper. I have searched different posts on this site and else where, am I not reading the drawing right, and am I correct in thinking that fittings should not be screwed directly into copper they should all be bushed? I have built a few boilers ,despite what drawing says I always use bushes for screwing any thing to the boilers and no matter what thickness the copper is ( 1/16 - 5/32 ) . A little more work but no regrets later .

Thanks Shawki, The barrel throats etc are from 13 gauge, .097", 2.37mm the front tube plate and backhead are 1//8", 3.17mm copper, there are only another nine bushings to make, clack valves, water gauge, boiler drain, and stays. I just have to get some PB bronze to do the job. Thanks for the help, Regards Noel
